Ian Christopher's Artist Statement

Napoleon's Tomb
France, 2001

Ian Christopher is a young photographer who has spent several years examining life and trying to define it through his photography. He enjoys the internal as well as external light that eminates from everything in nature; the external light that catches your eye and draws you in to take a closer look and the internal light that makes you relax and be still for a moment or an hour.

Ian searches to find the light that makes the photograph more than just a black and white image on paper, to give the viewer a sense of experience through a two dimensional image. Many things in nature are overlooked and he hopes to make the viewer stop and realize the beauty there.

If you are silent for a moment, focus on the light that is, and is not visible.
